Casting Call: 'The Sound of Music'

Yardley Players will hold auditions for "The Sound of Music" at Kelsey Theater.

Auditions will be held from noon-5 p.m. Feb. 9, and from 1 -5 p.m. Feb. 10. Appointments are required to audition. Download an audition form from www.yardleyplayers.com, bring a recent photo of yourself and a resume. Wear comfortable shoes, and come prepared to sing a song from the show, as stated below. Kelsey Theater is located at Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor.

Rehearsals will be held Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from April 21 to May 2. Rehearsals will run from 7-10 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 2-6 p.m. Sundays. Performances will be held at Kelsey Theater, Mercer County Community College at 8 p.m. May 3 and 10, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. May 4 and 11, and at 2 p.m. May 5 and May 12.

All von Trapp children must attend all their scheduled rehearsals. Yardsley cannot rehearse with the 7 von Trapp children without all of them being present.  If your child has activities planned for Tuesdays, Thursdays or Sundays which will cause absences, please do not have them audition.  Yardsley will try to end rehearsals by 9 or 9:30 p.m. for the children until late in April when we will be putting the show together, which will require rehearsals to end at 10 p.m.

Children must have a parent or an appointed adult backstage each night of the performances and during dress rehearsals, to help with costume changes. The von Trapp children have seven,  and many of them are quick.

The theater will supply costumes, but actors must supply their own stockings, tights, and shoes unless told otherwise by the costumer.
