Agatha Christie's “A Murder is Announced” opens this weekend at Somerset Valley Players in Hillsborough.

The play, based on Christie's mystery novel of the same name, features her famous lady protagonist Miss Marple. Intruders lurk behind closed doors in a relentless quest for the family inheritance.

The show opens Friday evening, with performances at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. Sundays through Jan. 27.
