Casting Call: 'The Wedding Singer'

The Young Adult Drama Group will be having auditions for "The Wedding Singer".

Auditions and sign up for crew will be on June 25 at 6 p.m. in the North Brunswick Township Performing Arts Center. If you want to be in the ensemble or crew, you will be able to leave in about an hour. If you want to audition for a lead or featured role, please prepare 32 bars of a contemporary Broadway or pop song. Please bring your own sheet music. Also come prepared to dance a short combination. If necessary, callbacks will be June 26 at 6 p.m. To audition, you must turn 13 by July 1 and be younger than 23 on August 1.

Rehearsals will be Mondays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the North Brunswick Township Performing Arts Center starting on June 30. Due to the abbreviated rehearsal process, cast members are expected to attend all rehearsals.

Based on the 1998 romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, the musical version expands the storyline by adding some delightfully uptempo music and milking every little ‘80s in-joke you could possible imagine. Super fun, super ironic times await you!

The show will be directed by Joey Braccino, musically directed by Chris Curcio, choreographed by Steph Palm, produced by Elaine Martin-Amodio, with creative consultations from Rebecca Cahill.

Performances will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from Aug. 7 - 9.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the director, Joey Braccino, via Facebook.
