Casting Call: 'The Mousetrap'

A group of strangers are stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer.

Auditions will be held for Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap" this week.

The murder suspects include the newlyweds who run the house, whose suspicions threaten to wreck their marriage; a spinster with a curious background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange man who claims his car has overturned in a drift, and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. Into their midst comes a policeman, traveling on skis. He no sooner arrives when the jurist is killed. To get to the rationale of the murderer's pattern, the policeman probes the background of everyone present, and rattles a lot of skeletons.

Mollie Ralston (Late 20s-40)	Strong woman with a gentle soul. Married to Giles. They have recently started a guesthouse, but it is obvious that they are in over their head.
Giles Ralston	(Late 20s-40) Husband of Mollie, whom he loves and supports. He is fiercely protective of her and can be prone to jealousy.
Christopher Wren	(Late 20s-40) A flamboyant, outspoken, peculiar young man who admits that he is running away from something, but refuses to say what.
Mrs Boyle	(middle-aged) Former judge. A critical woman who is displeased by everything she observes, especially the younger generation.
Major Metcalf	(Middle-aged) A kind retired military man. Little is known about him.
Miss Casewell	(20s-40) A strange, aloof, masculine woman who speaks offhandedly about her past.
Mr Paravicini	(40+) A continental gentleman, probably Italian. Roguish, charming and very mysterious.
Detective Sergeant Trotter	(Late 20s-40) The detective who arrives during a snow storm to question the proprietors and guests regarding a recently escaped murderer.

Auditions will take place 7-20 p.m. July 11 and 1-5 p.m. July 12 at the CM building on Mercer County College Campus, behind Kelsey Theater. Auditionees are requested to bring their resumé and a head shot.
