Casting Call: 'Defying Gravity'

Circle Players will be holding auditions for Jane Anderson's "Defying Gravity".

Auditions are at 7 p.m. on March 30 and 31. Callbacks are scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 2.

 Sides will be provided at the theater, which is located on 416 Victoria Avenue, Piscataway.

The play, while fiction, is tied to the space shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986, in which civilian Christa McAuliffe and the astronauts aboard
the flight were killed.

 Characters are:
Elizabeth
 35 - 45
Female, a 5-year-old child
Teacher
 45 - 50
Female, Elizabeth's mother
Claude Monet
35 - 55
Male, the famous impressionist painter
Donna
25 - 35
Female, preferably African-American, a bartender
Betty
55 - 65
Married to Ed
Ed
 55 - 65
Married to Betty
Performances will be 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, June 13-28, with a 3 p.m. matinee Sunday, June 29.
