Welcome the New Year at Villagers Theatre

Looking for a fun way to welcome the new year? Villagers Theatre is offering patrons the chance to get out of the house and celebrate the end of 2015 with live entertainment, music and a catered buffet.

The New Years Eve party kicks off at 7 p.m. for those attending the show only, and at 9:30 for those wanting to stay out late and ring in the new year with a show and gala. Tickets cost $25 for the show and $60 for the show and gala, which includes a catered buffet, music, dancing, and party hats and favors.

Christmas at Kelsey Theatre

Kelsey Theatre presents "A Very Kelsey Christmas."

The show is a Christmas concert set in the style of a 1950's live variety television show. There will be skits, music of all types (including classic Christmas songs and hymns, pop hits, and Broadway classics), and more.

Performances will take place at 8 p.m. on Dec. 12 and 2 p.m. on Dec. 13. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and $14 for students/children.

The show is directed by John Zimmerman and musically directed by Peter de Mets.




Also, the theatre will host multiple free Christmas concerts. There will be a choral concert at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, a jazz band concert at 8 p.m. on Dec. 8, and a concert by the Mercer County Symphonic Band at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 16.

Casting Call: News Year's Eve Vaudeville Review

Villagers Theatre will hold auditions for their 2015 New Year's Eve vaudeville review.

The theatre needs men and women capable in singing, dancing, and comedy for the show. There will be two performances, both on Dec. 31. Rehearsals will begin shortly after Thanksgiving.

Auditions are on Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Please prepare a song for the audition. You may do a capella or bring recorded with you, but no accompaniment will be provided. Showtunes are preferable, but all songs are welcome. Dancers should also bring recorded music. Magic and comedy routines are also welcome.

Broadway Cares Benefit at Villagers Theatre

Villagers Theatre will be hosting a performance presented by the Teensvill of past and present.

The show is August 4 only at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.Tickets are payable in cash or check only (please make checks payable to Broadway Cares).

Performances from cast members of many TeensVill productions from the past 16 years which could include productions of "Godspell", "Leader of the Pack", "Runaways", "Fame", "Footloose", "Bye Bye Birdie", "Les Misérables", "The Wiz", "Into the Woods", "Seussical", "Aida", "Rent", "13 the Musical", "The Wedding Singer", "Spring Awakening", and "Legally Blonde The Musical". The concert will be held on the Villagers Main Stage. There will be prizes from Broadway Cares.

Casting Call: 'Putting it Together'

Playhouse 22 will hold open auditions for "Putting It Together," a musical revue of songs by Stephen Sondheim, this weekend. Songs featured include ones from Sunday in the Park with George, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Merrily We Roll Along, and Assassins.

Auditionees should prepare an up-tempo classic or contemporary Broadway song (no pop songs) of up to 32 bars, with sheet music in the correct key.  An accompanist will be provided. A capella is not permitted. They should also wear clothing comfortable for dancing in.

'Theatre Rock Live' at Villagers Theatre

Villagers Theatre will be presenting "Theater Rock Live!" this month.

The band performing features Joe Andolino at the keyboard, Kasaku Nakamura with the guitar, Jason Gianni with the drums, and Andrew Rosciszewski with the bass. Vocalists are Danny Gershaw, Lindsay Lavin, Daniel Peter Vissers, and Shanna Levine Phelps.

'Jerry's Girls' at Edison Valley Playhouse

A musical revue celebrating the music of Jerry Herman, "Jerry's Girls" opens November 1. The show features songs from Hello Dolly, Mame, La Cage Aux Folles, Mack and Mable, and others.

The show times will be at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Nov. 1 to 16 and at 2 p.m. November 10. The revue's cast features Angela Dohl, Tracey Lynne Haskell, Amy Levine, Sandye Rudnitzky and Gabrielle Visser Trumbull.

'The World Goes 'Round' at Playhouse 22

Playhouse 22 will kick off its 55th anniversary late September with a musical revue.

Directed by Bill Seesselberg, "The World Goes 'Round" is a musical revue showcasing the songs of John Kander and Fred Ebb. The show consists of a collection of songs from "Chicago," "Cabaret" and "Funny Lady." The revue will be under the musical direction of Rory Chalcraft, with choreography by Susan Zuckerman.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. Sundays from Sept. 20-Oct. 6. There is no show on Sept. 28, but there will be an 8 p.m. show Sept. 26.

"The World Goes 'Round" features the talents of Jen Hanselman, Pam Jorgensen, Cristy Miller, Bill Osman and Mark Piltz.
